Quality Basement Insulation Services

Basements are one of the most overlooked areas when it comes to insulation—often left under-insulated during construction or renovation to cut costs. However, ignoring your basement can lead to major energy inefficiencies and discomfort throughout your home. At ProInsulate, we specialize in bringing warmth, efficiency, and peace of mind to homeowners by properly insulating their basements.

Concrete walls and floors might seem solid, but without proper insulation, basements are prone to heat loss in the winter and unwanted heat gain in the summer. In Alberta and BC, where temperature swings are extreme, the right insulation makes all the difference. It helps protect your home's integrity and keeps the basement—and the rest of your home—at a consistent, comfortable temperature year-round.

  • Insulating your basement doesn't just add comfort—it also directly affects energy efficiency and the overall health of your home.
    Benefits of Proper Basement Insulation:
    ● Maintains a steady indoor temperature throughout the year
    ● Reduces heating and cooling costs
    ● Minimizes moisture buildup and condensation
    ● Prevents mould, mildew, and water damage
    ● Protects stored belongings from temperature extremes
    ● Enhances the lifespan of HVAC systems
When installed professionally, basement insulation helps create a more livable space while safeguarding the structural integrity of your home.

  • Every home is different—and so are your insulation needs. ProInsulate helps you make the best choice for performance, comfort, and budget.
    Common Basement Insulation Applications:
    ● Spray Foam Insulation: Offers full coverage, seals air leaks, and resists moisture
    ● Fibreglass Batt Insulation: Cost-effective, widely available, and easy to install
    ● Rigid Foam Board Insulation: Adds thermal resistance and moisture control
    ● Insulated Blanket Systems: Ideal for unfinished or exposed walls
    ● Hybrid Systems: Combines insulation types for customized performance
We'll walk you through your options and recommend the best solution based on the condition of your basement and your long-term goals.

  • Spray foam insulation is one of the best solutions for basements, especially in colder climates like Alberta and BC. It delivers a long-lasting, airtight seal that outperforms traditional materials.
Why Homeowners Choose Spray Foam for Their Basements:
    ● Expands to fill cracks, joints, and odd shapes
    ● Provides superior thermal resistance (R-value)
    ● Acts as both an insulator and an air barrier
    ● Helps prevent mould and mildew by controlling moisture
    ● Maintains shape and performance over time
    ● Reduces energy bills by stopping drafts and leaks
Although spray foam has a higher upfront cost, its long-term benefits, including durability and comfort, make it a smart investment for your home.

Basement Insulation FAQs

  • Insulation performance is measured in units called R-values. This is a rating of how well the insulation will prevent heat from passing through the material. When reading an R-value rating, it is per inch of the insulation thickness. So if a material has an R-value of 5, installing 3 inches of the product will result in an R-value of 15 for the insulated area. Insulation ratings vary greatly based on the material, it’s thickness and density. Spray foam polyurethane insulation has a high thermal resistance and has some of the highest R-values of insulation products available. Spray foam insulation is well suited to be able to keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer helping you save money on your energy bills.
